ADOLESCENT SLEEPING BOOKS AND VIDEOS
If you're like most parents you have a daily struggle getting your children
ready for bedtime and then off to sleep. From the day your baby is born to the
day he/she becomes an adult many parents deal with sleeping problems.
Infants often have sleeping problems during their first year, including trouble
getting to sleep, waking up in the middle of the night and having irregular
sleep cycles. Newborns have irregular sleep patterns, which take about 6 months
to mature. They usually cry through the night, waking you up every few hours and
resist being put to bed.
As children become older they experience
other types of sleeping problems. Some
children have difficulty falling asleep.
Some children frequently wake up during
the night. Some children wake up crying,
Some children wake up early, Some
children have excessive nightmares.
Some children fall asleep during the
day. Some grind their teeth. While
others might wet their bed at night.
Many children resist sleeping in their
own bed and want to sleep in their
parent's bed. This is called
co-sleeping. It is not a good idea for
children to sleep with their parents on
a regular basis and should sleep in
their own bed. Another common problem is
bed wetting. Most children begin to stay
dry at night around three years of age
but some children continue bed wetting
through adolescence.
Some of our educational books and videos address the fundamentals of childhood
sleeping problems while others deal with more advanced sleeping problems and
