This is an excellent book for anyone that works with or has children. It will teach them to stand up for themselves and not tolerate troublesome behaviors that are repetitive and may turn into bullying behaviors. The main character in this book is Tommy, and he is a normal, average looking kid who is bothered simply because he looks average. Children are taught 5 ways to prevent bullying before it happens. These strategies are incorporated into a song called If You're Bothered and You Know it which is based on the popular tune, If You're Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands. This book is easy for children to relate to and has follow up activities that correspond with five short stories. They will enjoy the full color, beautifully illustrated stories and will learn specific ways to handle annoying behaviors.
